Finding training opportunities in research computing, data, software and cybersecurity is about to become easier with the launch of Explora, our new, national, bilingual training discovery portal.
Explora: discover Canadian DRI training
The need
Researchers in Canada have access to high quality digital research infrastructure (DRI) training through universities, colleges and local organizations, but finding these opportunities can be challenging without a central point of access.
A community-driven solution
In collaboration with our partners, ACENET, Calcul Québec, Compute Ontario, the BC DRI Group, Prairies DRI and the National Training Expert Group, Explora aims to help by offering a single platform to find DRI training events across the country – from introductory workshops to specialized topics in computing, data management, software, cybersecurity and more. We are still building the workflow for adding research data management providers. Access to Explora is open and free, regardless of institutional affiliation.
Explora will launch in two phases: the first phase offers a discovery platform for finding training events across the country. The second phase, planned for 2026, will offer training materials to support learning and research.
